Will lavender grow where I live?

This is one of the first questions I'm asked. Thus began research for a lavender grower in each of the fifty states. While I'm still working on the list, I've managed to find lavender growers in all but 4 states!

Because of micro climates within zones and variations in soil composition it would be difficult for me to guarantee success growing a particular variety in a particular region.

Different lavenders tolerate a variety of conditions. Your local nursery knows your particular area and should have knowledge enough to guide you in choosing the appropriate lavender that thrives in your region. Read my article choosing lavender plants at the website to get you started.

Also check for a farm in your region. Most growers will be happy to share a few tips. (As long as they're not in the middle of harvest!)
